Germany's Perspectives and Engagement in the Pacific Region – A Conversation with German Special Envoy Ambassador Beate Grzeski

The dynamic development of the Pacific region in recent years also has implications for Germany and Europe - in terms of climate, trade and security policy. Germany decided to make a long-term political commitment to the region which is reflected in the Indo-Pacific Guidelines published in September 2020. Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock’s visit to Palau in July 2002 and Germany’s accession to “Partners in the Blue Pacific” further underlined Germany’s commitment to the region.

Germany’s first Special Envoy to the Pacific Island States, Ambassador Beate Grzeski, will discuss Germany’s perspectives and priorities in the Pacific Region and the perspectives for future German engagement in the region.
